Glossary
- Vignette
- Toll sticker for the Austrian motorway network. Mandatory for all vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes on motorways and expressways.
- ASFINAG
- Autobahnen- und Schnellstraßen-Finanzierungs-Aktiengesellschaft. State-owned company that operates the Austrian motorway network and collects tolls.
- e-Vignette
- Digital vignette linked directly to the vehicle's licence plate. Available since 2018 via the ASFINAG website or app.
- Adhesive Vignette
- Physical vignette that must be attached to the top-left of the windscreen.
- Special Toll
- Additional toll for certain routes (tunnels, passes), payable even with a valid vignette.
- GO Toll
- Toll system for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. Not to be confused with the vignette.
- Replacement Toll
- Flat-rate amount (€120 car, €60 motorcycle) payable when checked without a valid vignette.
- Annual Vignette
- Vignette with approximately 14 months validity (1 December to 31 January of the year after next).
